玉手箱の英語問題は難しい？対策法を例題をもとに解説

玉手箱形式のテストにおける英語問題は大きく「論理的読解」と「長文読解」の2種類に大別されます。

どちらの問題形式においても英文を読む能力と、その意味を解釈する能力が重要です。

それらの二つの要素を両立しながら、玉手箱の厳しい制限時間の中で問題を解くこと容易ではありません。

玉手箱の英語問題には2種類の形式が存在します。それぞれにおいて普遍的な英文読解能力が要求される問題形式です。具体的には以下の二つの問題形式が存在します。

• 論理的読解（GAB形式）
• 長文読解（IMAGES形式）

それぞれの特徴を知っておくことで、玉手箱における英語テストの対策がより立てやすくなります。

論理的読解（GAB形式）

論理的読解（GAB形式）は、英語の長文が問題文として与えられ、その問題文を読んで与えられた設問に答えていく方式です。

設問に対する回答の選択肢として、本文が論理的に正しいかどうかの判断を要求されます。

本文を読むにも問題に回答するにも基礎的な英語の知識や文章読解力が重要視される問題形式です。一台につき3問の問題がある長文8題で合計24問を10分の中で解くスピード感も重要です。

長文読解（IMAGES形式）

長文読解（IMAGES形式）の問題ではGAB形式の試験とは違い、設問に対する解答として正しいものを選択肢の中から選ぶ形式の試験です。

与えられる問題文は実用的な文章が多いため、基礎的かつ汎用的な英語の知識に加え正確に英文を正しく読解する力が要求されます。

設問3問を伴う長文が8題出題され、合計24問を制限時間10分の中で解くことが要求されるため、速読力も重要です。

玉手箱の英語問題に対応するには、相応の対策が必要です。玉手箱の英語問題では、情報処理能力と英語の基礎知識を問うています。

現状の英語力を把握する

玉手箱の英語問題の対策をするにあたって、まず自分の英語能力を客観的に把握しておくことが必要です。

文法を覚える

時間配分を考える

玉手箱のあらゆる形式において、試験は時間との勝負です。常に時間配分を意識して問題に取り組まなければ、時間に間に合わず大量失点をしてしまう可能性があります。

そういったことを防ぐために、練習の段階から時間配分を意識し、自分がどれぐらいのペースで問題を解き進められるのかを把握しておきましょう。

問題集を繰り返し解く

玉手箱形式の試験の対策として、繰り返しの問題演習は必要不可欠です。練習によってテストの形式に慣れておくことで、当日も余裕を持って臨めます。

繰り返しの練習として同じ参考書を繰り返し解くことで、自分の中である程度問題をパターン化できるため、一つの参考書を繰り返し解くことが重要です。
